In organizations, managers or supervisors use a number of parameters or tactics to evaluate the performance of employees. Mostly, all evaluation forms cover the following topics:

  • Knowledge of Job

You must have a thorough understanding of your job duties and responsibilities. Which tasks are part of your duty and which are not, and how much effort you put into fulfilling duties determine that you’re a valuable asset to your team or company?

  • Quality of work

Do employers evaluate how much an employee is putting effort into work to ensure the desired quality of results? Or is the work done by employees accurate and error-free?

  • Quantity of work

The quantity of work determines the standard of how much workload employees can handle and how much work they can accomplish in an average week, month, quarter, or year. Do they fulfill the desired expectation? Are we able to meet the deadline?

  • Working relationships

It determines the degree to which an employee interacts with his coworkers, supervisors, and subordinates. How he performs as a team player is also analyzed for performance appraisal.

  • Achievements

It determines how many goals an employee has achieved to play an outstanding role in any organization.

An employee can’t be perfect in all these aspects. A person should analyze the nature of his job and all the related parameters. So he can work on those priority areas. For example: in a restaurant, a chef may value speed and quality to satisfy his customers with the ordered dishes at the right time. While a construction company focuses on quality and efficiency, they avoid hustle to reduce wasted material or equipment.
